House Lions

When you live with a longhaired cat, is shaving some of the floofy stuff off a good idea? I went to meet the Spice Cats a little while ago and discovered there's something to be said for lion cuts.

Check out lion cuts and the Spice Cats in Katz Tales tomorrow in the print version of The Star, Weekender section.

And int eh meantime check out Sesame here looking rather cute. Photo stolen with permission from Sharlene who is mum/personal slave to the Spice Cats.

And as promised, here are some links:

How To Groom Your Cat
An excellent short intro to cat grooming and basic tools. The corner-mounted comber idea sounds terrific!

Oh dear! Gemini is always worrying that will give her a lion cut too! But they are very cooling!

Mom use to do that to her Pekes, but she better not come near us!

You bring up some good questions! Macy has LOTS of fur and we're always fighting hairballs (but she really hates her hairball meds). Perhaps a lion cut would be nice for her (if she doesn't kill the groomer...)

I think when the fur gets unruly, then yes, definitely a cut is warranted. Especially when there are lots of knots.

Thanks for making Sesame a star! Hehehe....

I am thinking of sending Sesame and Ginger back for their lion cuts. But I do love their fluffy fur..... Hhmmmm....
