Loving Purr-Fluff

Some people say that cats only like people because of the food we give them. Maybe there are such cats about but Target is not one of them.

When I was making tea this morning, Target rubbed up against my ankle and said, "Meep," meaning, "I'm hungry". While I prepared a bowl of chopped chicken liver, he rubbed and purred and purred and rubbed.

When I put the bowl on the ground, he ignored it. Instead of going to his breakfast, he rolled over on my feet, purred and demanded a cuddle.

We cuddled and fuzzed and purred for ten minutes. Then I had to tell him I had to go upstairs to the office. When I put him down, Target got set to come with me. I had to remind him to eat his breakfast.

Target was starving. He bolted down his food and then came rushing upstairs into the office. He's now sitting pretty, purring at me and squeezing his eyes to send me cat kisses.

Opportunistic cats? Not that I know of!

This isn't true -- Trouble also likes me because I keep the dogs away from her and change the litter in her pan.

Target is so sweet. Though hungry, he prefers your hugs to food.

Everyday is a story for me with Twylah. I am just so happy we got her. Target is such a sweet cat. Sometimes my cat acts spoiled.
But I still love her.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great weekend!

That's sweet. Over the years Sassie has gotten much more friendly. At first she wouldn't sit near us and didn't like to be petted. Now she lays beside me on the bed and wants to be petted.
Target is such a cutie!

I agree...cats do feel more than cupboard love, but only those who have cats realise this. My two often come up and purr and rub around my legs, just because they feel like it. We have interesting conversations, too.

Your Target sounds a lovely affectionate boy...that's what cats are about.

Only cat-haters can come up with things such as 'cats are selfish/aloof/arrogant/disobedient/disloyal'. No one who has ever been adopted by a cat would say such things. There isn't such a thing as a 'typical cat'. Sure, ferals and strays are skittish, but wouldn't you be, too, if all you have ever received from humans is abuse? My fuzzies are extremely loving and affectionate, just like Target here. I love the 'squeezing eyes' bit best of all.
