Au Update and Carnival of Cats

Au is eating mouthfuls of chicken breast roll, roast chicken and air-dried salmon sashimi treats.  With the vitamin B and liver tablets on top of this, I'm hoping we're turning a corner.  Au is looking stick-thin but he does purr when I bring chicken to him - in bed and at 445AM.  Target is enjoying Au's illness as he likes pillow service too.

Thanks for all of your purrs and advice.  It's very comforting to have a cat community to lean on in times of crisis. I wouldn't be sane without all of you.

Now on to the fun staff: Carnival of the Cats #3592011 CoTC

The Carnival of the Cats is a weekly roundup of cat-related posts around the world from bloggers who submit a post for inclusion.

For us Cat Bloggers the Carnival is a chance to discover blogs we might never have heard of, on subjects of all kinds! The Carnival Home Page, with an archive of past Carnivals, the Line-up for 2011, FAQ'S, and more, is HERE.

1. The Real Housecats of Orange County blog about an important issue: is it ethical to euthanise a pet when the animal has a complaint that is perfectly treatable? When it's time to say goodby discussed one case in particular.  I know what side I'm on!

2. The Natural Cat Care Blog ask The feline soul mate–do you have one too?

3. Jan's Funny Farm have put up a eulogy Remembering Crystal. Also please check out her others posts to find gift shops and sales that support pet and animal rescue charities.

4. Similarly check out Catsparella's 10 Cat Themed Valentine's Day Gift Ideas For Under $20

5. Gattina has posted a conversation between Arthur and Rosie, Profound Thoughts.  Very funny!  I always love these guys.

6. Happy fats cats from Devon Erik and Flynn have put up Flynn's Travels - see the world from the cat's perspective!

7. The Whiskeratti gang are musing about The things people believe and give some excellent cat soul safety advice.

8. Veterinarian Technician give out Safety Tips for Wildlife Photography  It's not strictly speaking cat stuff although with a stretch of the imagination you might use it photographing lynx, cougars etc.  Or stalking Target in the long grass...

9. Sharon Watermark announces it's National Tie Day and shows off a kitty in a photoshopped outfit. Our comment wouldn't work but we liked it.

10. Mind of Mog is showing off a Tummy Tuesday - always a favourite!

11.  Cat Synth offers tonnes of kitty news and blogs at Weekend Cat Blogging #295

12. And finally, Life From a Cat's Perspective features Finally Friday with Samantha & Clementine

That's it for the carnival. Hope you enjoyed it.  Next week's host is CatSynth who on the 6th of Feb will host Cat Carnival #360.  Check it out!

As Chinese New Year starts Thursday, we want to say only, Gong Xi Fa Cai!  May the Year of the Rabbit bring you health, luck, happiness, fun, prosperity and all things auspicious.

Dr. Kelly here-thx for including my blog post "When it is Tme to Say Goodbye" This situation really affected me and writing about it was a cathartic release of my emotions about this case. I am thankful to have had an outpouring of support from the pet community. Vets have to draw the line and stick up for their patients as well as supporting clients the best we can (these things cause conflicts as you will see when you read the article...) I hope Au feels better soon!

Au, darling sweet one. Me and the Admiral love you both bunches. You and Target are part of our kitty family. And those of us on the CB are all family. Your mom said how good to have a kitty community to lean on..oh it is. My Admiral and I got so much love and purrs and purrayers that I know it helped her to get where she is now. I still count on that for her as she'll not be completely put of the woods. Au, xoxox and eat well, sweet One.

My Rowdies and I are praying hard for Au. When Pixie was diagnosed with "liver problems", we started him on a supplement called Liv .52, which I found in Petsmore and another pet supply store near Damansara Uptown. Pixie's health improved after that. The folks at the Bentong Farm Sanctuary give it to the animals who are poorly, too, especially those who don't respond well to other medication and vaccination.

Excellent Carnival.
BTW, for a list of CB-ers with shops, check out the sidebar of the Cat Blogosphere itself. First you have the ANNOUNCEMENTS bar, right underneath that is the GOODIES FROM FRIENDS bar. In that, first you have 2011 CALENDARS, followed by SHOPPING. It's win-win, we got a lot of our holiday shopping done from Jan's Funny Farm and Wildwood Cats. We never had so many compliments on our gifts, either. I am being completely honest here. We had the best gifts ever, we spent much less money, we helped our good friends have a better year, it was just win-win-win.

We're continuing to purr for Au and hope he improves daily.

Our Annie is so thin now the mom's hand practically catches on all the bones when she's giving her pats.

So we hope they both gain weight back!

Hannah and Lucy said...

We hope Au continues to get better and keep eating - it is so worrying when they are not eating.
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx

Au, be strong! Recover and be well soon!!!

We are purring for you!

P:S: Once, there was this little stray kitten who was jaundice (suspected liver problem), lost so much weight, we thought he couldn't make it. We didn't give up and forced fed him with AD, mixed with turmeric powder - he made it, now still stick-thin but eating well and a real acrobat! (He can really jump!)

We hope so too. We are purring for Au very hard!

Hope Au is getting better - it may take time for his tummy to settle and him to want to eat.

Oh, so glad your kitty is on the mend! I wonder if my kitty would ever get out of bed if I gave her "pillow service." BTW, did you know that on the Vietnamese calendar, we are now in the Year of the Cat?

We continue to purr for Au and hope that he stays on the road to recovery!

Mommy says she totally agrees about drawing strength from the CB community. Several times since starting her blog, they haf rallied around her when she needed them the most.
