Au Still Eating But Now Boris Is Sick!

Au is eating, little by little.  He's nibbling 2 tablespoons of biscuits or wet food at a time.  And he's eating between 4 and 6 times a day.

As he has told us his taste is way off, we're buying all sorts of different food to tempt his appetite.

Au is nibbling at Fancy Feast, Whiskas, and other stuff he's never wanted to eat in his life.  He seems to like strong smelling food best, so we think his sense of smell is impaired.

Anyhow, although Au is is eating, he is stick thin.  These two pics were taken 3 weeks apart.  If all goes well, we'll see the vet next week for another check-up.

Bad news is that Boris has a patch of dermatitis.  We've seen the vet twice for it and nothing has happened, so we're off for a second opinion tonight.

Always tons of purrs for Au and now Boris!

The mom is feeding Annie whatever it is that she'll eat too...She's so emaciated it's scary. Still need to get her UTI taken care of, waiting for more test results. So the mom understands the concern and stress and worry.

Lots of kitty kisses and hugs; we're keeping you all in our purrayers!

Yes, I will purr a lot. It is hard when the humans have to worry about their beloved fur companions. Mom and I hope all will right itself soon.

Oh, Sir Au does look thin! It took about a month for KonaKitty to fill out after Mommy gave in and started feeding her kibble. Au may be using his food for healing and not "fat" right now.
We will send big purrs for both Au and Boris.
Mommy says "Hang in there"! We had a year of bad Cat health and it's nerve-wracking.

Poor Au, he has lost a lot of weight. We hope his appetite improves and he puts the weight back on again. We hope the vet sorts out the right medication for Boris' dermatitis.

Have you tried any appetite stimulants? They've been effective with several CB cats we know of. Anyway, we wish y'all the very best in getting Au past this.

We're glad Au is eating a little at a time. There seems to be a rash of cats not eating lately.

We hope Boris will be okay.

We are soo happy that Au is eating. We continue to purr lots and lots for him to find his appetite as it should be and to regain his lost weight so that he once again becomes the the big, bad Au!! As for Boris, we also hope that his problem is cleared up very, very soon. You guys could use a break from all your worries...come up and cuddle with us! We would love that! Or maybe we should come down and cuddle with you..you DO have the warm weather!! Purrs and purrs, Lautrec, Tiny and Ellwood

We'll always be purring for you!!! Mommy wants us to tell you that cats are notorious for being finicky with their food. Their tastes change suddenly and frequently. That's why cat food causes the pet food industry a lot of headache bec they have to keep rotating the flavors.

the last time Isadora wouldn't eat I relaized it was partly due to congestion and she couldn't smell the food
I added a small amount of chicken broth to everything, even the dry food
I made it very strong so that she could really smell it
You can get the cubes or packets and add very little water

good luck with Boris too

it's so upsetting, I send hugs to all

and thanks for your good thoughts for Isadora
I just got back from leaving her at the hospital
poor Siren, he's confused and looking all over for her

Oh dear. I'm glad Au is eating, and I sure hope he continues to eat more and get some of his weight back. It's seems that when they aren't feeling well and not eating much, you have to try lots of different foods. I hope Boris' dermatitis clears up! Hang in there!! Hugs to you and the kitties!

Cat Chat With Caren And Cody said...

so happy that Au is eating but a so sorry about Boris.
We are off to the vet tomorrow ourselves...Cody has broken out awfully under his chin...some of the lumps are larger and it seems worse than kitty acne (but I am hoping that that is all that it is)
Our furbabies sure give us a run for our money don't they?
We love them though and would do anything for them.
Good luck and sending you purrs and prayers...hang in there! ((((hugs))))
