We've been to the vet again but nothing can be done. Au's liver is actually OK now with those pills, but our kitty has been diagnosed with FIV. If he doesn't get the urge to eat again, these will be his last days.
It is very difficult for us but it's important to remember that Au is not suffering. He clearly feels fine, except that he doesn't have an appetite.
I'll keep you posted.

Oh we are so so sory about Au - we hope he will decide to eat again - I know FIV is difficult but have heard stories of FIV cats deciding they want to fight and staying with us for a while. We are sending tons of purrs and prayers for Au - no matter what his time left is he has had a wonderful loving home with you and we know you will do what is best for him. And we are sending you tons of comforting purrs and prayers too - no matter what, try to make as many good memories as you can with him while he is still here.
We will keep all of you in our purrs and purrayers. We hope that Au will eat some and we will continue to believe.

I'm sorry to hear about Au's diagnosis. Having gone through all this recently, it's difficult but I'm hoping for the best and a miracle for Au. Hugs and take care. Call if you need to share.
::hugs:: Nicodemus the Evile Anti-Koala didn't have FIV but he also ended up not eating very much and then nothing at all. He passed away very peacefully in my arms after all of the rest of the Horde (as it was comprised of at the time) had come by to say good-bye. He just purred on my chest until he crossed the Bridge.
I pray that Au has the very best outcome. He is certainly well-loved. Prayers & purrs from all of us here at the home of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Kitty Horde.
Hope and prayers can be magical...
we will hope for the best, and pray harder for little Au and
all of you.
Oh no. We're so sorry to hear about the FIV. You have our purrayers. Hugs to you all.
We are purring for you and Au...and know that FIV may not mean the end. Our Jonathan lived with it for years, but we know that is not the case will all FIV kitties.
Cory and family

Oh no. This is so sad. I really hope you can get him to eat! I've heard of many kitties with FIV living a long time. Many hugs to you! I'll pray that he eats.

We just got to your Blog this evening and I must say I am so very sorry to hear about the little one's sickness. I know the pain the future will bring. We had to let a little feral go shortly after welcoming him to the family. When he went for his first checkup we discovered he had the disease. A week later we had to let him go to the bridge. It hurt us all so very much. Our thoughts and best wishes to all.
Sending positive vibes to Au. Stay strong little guy!
Oh so sad... we'll be thinking of you all and sending hugs and purrs for Au. Btw, I found this, don't know if it will be any use but still... http://www.experienceproject.com/groups/Love-Cats/forum/Treatments-For-FIV/9042
We are sending lots of healing purrs and hungry vibes to sweet Au. FIV kitties, as others have said, can live long after diagnosis. We hope Au will decide to stay with you.
We are very sorry to hear about Au. We send you our very best thoughts, purrs and prayers.
We are sending extra special love and purrs for Au this Valentine's day, and always. We will purr for a recovery ~ but we know you will make the right decisions if necessary.
Sorry to hear that. I really didn't expect that he is that serious. I'll keep you all in my thoughts. Take care.
I am very sorry to learn that Au has FIV. I am also an FIV kitty. I got very sick last spring and wouldn't eat much. Mom was getting really worried and was trying everything. What finally worked was Fancy Feast Elegant Medleys. I tried it, I liked it and I regained my health. Every kitty is different, but if you haven't tried it yet, it's worth a try.

Oh noooo, I'm so worried about Au!He is adorable, I'm sending love and purrs for him.

We are so sorry to hear that Au could be on his last lap. Apart from his appetite, he seems so spirited still. We hope that will be enough to help him hold out a little longer. Meanwhile, we'll be purring long and loud for his appetite to return in full force.
~Slash & Bronzy
Kim here...You and Au are in my thoughts and prayers.
Annie is not eating at all (except a tiny bit with help via appetite stimulant) and hasn't groomed herself in quite some time...I feel in my heart it's time to say enough is enough, in spite of what everyone is telling me (give her anti-biotics, give her B12, give her this or that, she'll be fine, etc).
Please know I'm holding you all close to my heart at this time and am sending hugs and Light.
My thoughts are with you, I know it's not an easy thing. Hoping for the best.
We are so sorry to hear the news about your darling boy Au. He is such a handsome mancat.
We are purring for him and you too as we know hard hard this will be for you. We know that you will do the kindest thing when life becomes too hard for him.
Love Hannah, Lucy and mum Sue xxxxxx
Had a cat who couldn't eat well for 3 years ++ so I could relate to the anxiety of cat eating very little. Somehow she sustained with just a morseful of food. She was a real toughie who endured daily medication throughout. We knew she rather be with us and chose to fight the battle with us till the very last. I still missed her after 3 years.
Lots of purrs
Soft woos for all of you - Ann of Zoolatry told us about Au.

Our Ivy has FIV and she is going on 12 with no symptoms. If you can get Au stabilized, he has much time to live too. We do lots of immune support things to help her. Don't give up on him. Sending lots of prayers.

We are so sorry to hear about Au. We are purring for him...and for you too....
Our purrs and purrayers are with Au and you at this time.
hope Au will be able to overcome this challenging time and win the battle. i'll pray the best for him.
This is so sad. You are in our thoughts and will keep purring for you!
Hugs,
Our hearts ache to think Au may be helped across the Bridge soon.
But, as ML pointed out, these tenacious tabbies can have remarkable skill when they are just having Too Much Love and Fun to leave just yet.
We had an FIV kitty whilst we were in Upper School who simply accepted the additional fussing over him and stayed with me-or with my mom, really- until he thought we were okay for him to move on. We still think Mischa would be with Us if he knew what a mess we're in now!
In point of fact, Au will clearly let you know when he feels it's time to cross The Bridge. At that time, you will have the loving arms of all The Cat Blogosphere around you and many lights and purrayers guiding him to that Beautiful Place!
We are all here for you, and Au, and effuryone in your household!
Peace and Blessings,
Rose and the Royals
Ellen - we are so sorry to hear this and are sending Au many purrs and good thoughts. We hope that things will resolve themselves in the best way for him. He is such a wonderful cat.
