Target here! I have an important message for all kitties. You know how humans have really strange sleeping habits? Rather than our furry sensible 20 hour naps, humans sleep all night and are awake all day. So if you want to wake them up at 2AM to see something really interesting, or to have a nice little cuddle, they can be quite grumpy.
I have made a discovery that is certain to waken your pet up - and be happy!
I made this discovery last week when I wanted to show T-man my mousie. T-man was lying in that weird way humans do, with his front paws behind his head. I said meow really softly and dropped the mousie on him. Then I stuck my nose in his paw-pit and wriggled my whiskers.
Well, you should have seen his reaction!
T-man jumped and screamed with joy. When I tickled him again in the same place he screamed again with happiness. Then he picked me up and hugged me really close.
I tried it on mummy-cat and she did exactly the same thing: she screamed and then hugged me really close.
Humans clearly like being tickled with whiskers. I think you should all try it. Aim for the paw-pit.

Oh, my! And here we thought a claw up the nostril was effective....

Till I read all the way through your post, I was wondering if you had brought a real mousie onto the bed in the night. That would also make them squeal.
Simba is so right. This was just the funniest post to read. We sibes aren't lucky enough to get anywhere near the humans' bed at night:( Next time, Target, we need to see a video of this wonderful lesson.
Happy St. Patrick's Day to you!!!

I think you are so right nothing like the tickle of whiskers to make them sit up and take notice.. Hugs GJ xx
We're gonna try this tonight!

We work on that at 3 AM. Usually we do the face as the Woman does not show her armpits...
That sounds like the purrfect technique Target! Since your humans like it so much we hope you do it every night!
this is a brilliant idea, target! who could resist your adorable tickles...
hilarious!!
We will try this right away! We get Mommy hot at night and we'll dive in when she throws off the blanket...heh heh.
Thanks for that advice, Target! We're gonna try that!!
MOL! That's a really good tip Target!
Target dear,
You're spot on, mate! purrr...meow!
Does that work better than rubbin' noses with them, that's what we do. Guess we will have to try those whiskers. Hugs and nose kisses
It's a lot better tactic than what Binga used to do when she was a kitten, which was attack the human's faces.
I usually lick Mommy's nose and chew her hair. They always work. But if I want her to really leap out of bed super fast, I sit my backside on her face. Easy and effective!

Target, you make me laugh so hard! Yes, I am sure you had everyone screaming with joy and happiness!
Covering Momo's eyes...don't read this. That Momo has enough tricks even learning even more.

Well done Target - a valuable discovery for all cat-kind has been made today!
I'm the same as Nikki and Derry ( Kea )..heh..heh..heh..she need full force because she is a sleepy head : )

Humans like the oddest things. Momma SQUEEEEs with joy when PeeWee pokes his snooter in her eye socket to let her know it is time to wake up.

We think our mum is wise to that because she burrows down the bed and hides. She doesn't know what fun she's missing haha!!

You are very wise. Wonderful tip!
They haven't tried it yet on me, but I just imagine the picture, lol !

Oh Yes! Very Good! I like your style!
Hope you have a wonderful weekend, furiends!
Hi, Target!
That is a great technique!
I tried it once with my mom... and she screamed too! Remembering that screaming... I never did it again!
Happy weekend to all of you!

To answer your question about my sensitivity, Mom and Dad suspect that the husband of the young woman they g, especially related to food. (they were getting divorced so I wonder if that says something about him). But anyway, I am pretty shy of most people I don't know, even nice pet sitters. And I seem to know instinctively if somebody is from my real family (e.g. I warmed up quickly to my human brother when he visited recently even though I had not met him before).
I laughed till tears came!! Mom here. Admiral is reading, making notes and plotting. I am still laughing. Screamed with joy! Held you tight. Roger that!

Oh theese one is a good one, that's for sure!
So funny!
Such a handsome guy
I do try to get Mom up during the night and sometimes get put outta the bedroom. I don't tickle her though, just mess with the blinds which always works. Mom loves this post.
