Target Has A War Wound

Yesterday the stray cat with the long furry tail broke into the house.  Au raised a war cry and beat the hell out of him.

Au was so loud and so fast and so vicious that the grey cat rushed out of the house as fast as his paws could carry him.

He was in such a rush that he ran straight over the top of Target who was running to Au's rescue.

In his haste, the gray cat must have scratched Target's cheek.

This morning Target was fine but as 11AM his cheek felt hot.  By 2PM I had him in the vet.  His surgeon says he's never seen such a young abscess, and that it's nothing to worry about.

Target was supremely brave while his cheek was shaved and his abscess lanced and so was I.

We're now back at home.  Target is asleep in bed and I am about to have the largest drink in the entire universe.

I'm brave at the vet's because my fur friend needs me to be a cool calm rock in his time of need, but between you and me, the whole thing makes me sick with fear and nerves.

Purr for Target please, and if you've some spare, purr for me too!

How horrible that the cat broke into the house. Good for Au for putting up such a fight, and how unjust that Target got hurt while the cat was leaving. We understand your concern, but feel it is very good that Target was gotten to the vet so fast for treatment. We will make lot of purrs for Target and for you.

Tsrget, you were so brave to try to help Au, but we are so sorry you have that war wound. We hope it heals well. With how fast it developed, that bad cat must be a dirty one.

Mom says she just about passed out once at the vet's when one of her other dogs had a bad leg wound. she had to lie down to revive herself:)

Purrs to Target, and hopefully that intruder knows better then to try that again.

OMG your humor is outstanding - I have never been here before but will def return -- Ann sent me. Im sending prayers for all - and how funny is it that WE are more of a wreck at the vet than the cats are, in general? The vet told me that once as I held back an asthma attack when he told me my older cat had a blockage...

Glad everyone is okay!

For the Mom. TBT suggests a tall glass several ice cubes, a shot of gin, a shot of pomegranate liquor, 2 shots of pomegranate juice and fill the glass with ginger ale. Sip through a straw.

And WE say Nip for the kitties!
