| Guido smiling |
Au passed away a week ago and we're fine - as long as we don't think about it.
On Saturday at the supermarket I headed over to the ham counter without thinking, and burst into tears, considerably surprising our friends there.
One thing: Getting Guido to be a friend for Target was the best thing we're ever done.
The two boys were a bit quiet last week but I think that was more due to our grief than theirs. But most of the time they are wrassling, exploring, playing and hanging together. By 8PM they are crashed out on the sofa with us.
| Target fast asleep |
I'll be round to say hi in the next few days.
Meow!

More Purrs for during this difficult transition. I too have broken down in public after the death of one of my cats.. sometimes it is what it is..
Hi, we're still very sorry that Au has passed. It's frightening sometimes to think that things can change so fast. There's a picture of Au and Target, taken only two weeks earlier. My friend Taz, apparently had the most awesome day only two days prior to his passing. We don't get it. But what we do get is the sadness and longing to hold and feel the one that's gone. We understand.
Purrs to you. My human knows how sad you are... she still misses the cat before me, and she has been gone for 11 years now.
Me and Mom have the water in our eyes. When we see you have tried and be strong.
Paw up for Target and Guido to help your mommy has smile. Keep it up boyz ! You two have done a wonderful job.
Hugs and Purrs to You
Luv
xoxo
We're sending lots and lots of comforting purrs!
We were in total shock at the loss of Au. We are so sorry and we share your pain and grief.
We send sweet Guido and Target lots of cuddles and hugs and know that angel Au is looking out for them. Take care
x
Ellen, I am so deeply saddened by your post. I feel like I know Au just from reading all the wonderful stories on your blog. I'm glad he did not suffer and that you were there to comfort him. Hugs to Target and Guido. I'm sure they will feel this loss too.
We're glad the boys are doing well. It's different for them, unless they were specifically bonded to Au, which is seems they weren't. They're the lucky ones, really, whereas humans struggle through their grief.
Hugs and purrs.
We are sending more purrs to you all - it takes a long time to recover from losing a furry friend but at least you know he is at peace.
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
It is amazing how those "little" thing can set off the tears, but with time those same memories will bring smiles as you are able to enjoy the good times.
Woos - Phantom, Thunder, Ciara, and Lightning
Glad to read that the boys are doing well and that you are coping. I like to imagine my babies as still around, just only in the next room, and I'll get there eventually to be with them.
We continue to send purrs and warm thoughts to you. It's too hard to lose fur baby...but glad Guido and Target are doing well. They must be a big comfort for you.
Hugs, Goro, Niko, and Tamago
Pawhugs to you and your family. Those are great pics of the orange boys.
It will get easier as time goes on I still miss all my previous pets that I have lost, but it helps having other pets to bring those little smiles and if you need an extra lift just come and see Speedy everybody does when they need that little extra something,xx Speedy's mum Rachel
One day soon your heart will smile with loving memories. It just seems like it takes so long to get there. Hugs from all of us.
You think you are coping well and then it is the little unexpected things that suddenly hit home and the tears come flooding back. Time and precious memories help us heal, but we never forget our beloved fur family. (((hugs))) to you.
It takes time to heal and all the little things start the tears flowing.. take your time and we send purrs to you.. Hugs GJ xx

Oh we feel for you! It will take time for the tears to turn to smiles.
we so understand ((((hugs))) It was so sweet of you to stop by and see us today.....thank you xoxoxo
Time is the best healer, but as long as you keep him in your heart and soon the memories will make you smile. Sounds like the other two are getting along, that is good! More memories in the making. :)
We are continuing to purr and pray for you, and send much love and thoughts of comfort.
Kitties are amazing.
Intuitive and resilient...full of wonder and bliss.
XOXO
(((purrs)))
Its so sad when our beloved kitties pass on, but I've noticed many times another kitty will step up and take over some of the things the old kitty had done, like snuggling in a certain way. I hope those wholes left behind will start to fill in with the help of Target & Guido. Purrs, sweet furriends!
The other day, Aravind and I were joking about "rost chikkun" and then I felt really sad thinking about Au. I almost burst into tears too. I will never forget how he took ham from my hands and the way he used to drink water from a glass on the table. I will never forget what a lovely cat he is, doing the "Water Conservation Meme" for me and all. Goodbye sweet Au, you are my hero.
That is exactly how Mommy felt about HOL. We still sends healing purrs to your Mommy!
Kisses
Nellie
Purrs to you. We know how loss can hit unexpectedly. Weeks after my old sis Sophie passed, my mom was on her way to work as usual when she just started crying so hard that she had to pull off the road.
Guido and Target looks very comfy :)
My mom person still miss the cat that lived her before me and that is 3 years he passed away now.
Sending comfort Huggies and (((purrs)))
We can only imagine how sad you must be without Au. We'll continue to send our thoughts and purrs.
It's nice to see Guido and Target getting along so well :)
I cannot even imagine what you must be going through. I'm so sorry you're having to deal with this grief. Please let me know if there is anything I can do - you have my e-mail address. Even if you just need a friend to listen.
Lita is sending gentle paw pats to you (literally, she's poking at the screen like she knows you need some love). :)
Hugs and purrs,
Carmine, Milita, and Jewel
Mommy still has tears rolling down her face over Admiral at the darndest times too. Times associated with Admiral of course. She has even cried into my furs. That's OK. I know she loves us both.
Ah yes we miss those who pass before us. They are never gone if they are in mind. Purrs
I know. It's weird, isn't it?
Earnest died about a month ago.
Oliver has lost his best friend.

Dread the day it happens with my moggies . Bug furry hugs xxx
