Target Is Senior Cat

Target is now Senior Cat.  It's a very weird concept and one we're all finding it hard to adjust to.

Funnily enough, I was outside yesterday and Target was frisking along my ankles, kissing, purring and behaving in his usual kitten kersqueezul way when our neighbour popped up and said, "You'd never guess that he was holding FOUR cats at bay this morning with just a look, would you?"

So it turns out that my baby cat went across the street for a second breakfast, knowing our kind neighbour feeds strays there.  Apparently Target just swans in, puffs up and tells them all to back off or else. And they do.

Can you believe that this face could be that tough????

And no wonder he's an ounce away from a gravitational collapse!

I have read him a lecture on Sharing, Kindness and Greed.  I don't think it worked.

No one can ever fill Au's shoes (or paws) but you can't stop Target from trying! Don't be a hog, Target! Share! Good boy!

The cat before me had such a sweet face she looked like a Disney character... and she was the toughest cat you could ever hope to meet - I bet she would have given Target a run for his money!

Certainly it doesn't work ! A cats rule is "first me and then the others" (in case something is left...)

Nothing wrong with a bit of puffery to accomplish a goal (breakfast #2). I mean, you didn't actually beat anykitty up, did you? No? Well, there then, see? What's the problem, Human? Pfffft.

Target looks totally sweet and innocent! I guess the food brought the fierce side.

Our mom is always amazed at how the dynamics change when a kitty moves on. Kitties will step up and move into positions or take over where the last kitty left off.

And that surely is the face of innocence, not greed and gluttony! Maybe Guido ate his breakfast and Target was just starving? **snort**

I think Target should not steal ALL the strays' fudz--just a taste to show he is TopCat, and then maybe he can make a move on Guido's breakfast.

Target is certainly growing into his role as the "senior cat", but there is also something about him that still evokes a kitten. I suppose we all see that in the cats we watch grow up :)
